If you’re like me, you would do anything to have good hair. I’ve tried all types of shampoos and conditioners as well as all the popular hair appliances. Well, a while back I watched parts of an infomercial advertising the new Instyler Rotating Hair Iron. The Instyler looked like an amazing machine and the results they were able to achieve on the show were remarkable! I decided that it was time for me to check it out.

The main question that I wanted to answer was, Does the Instyler hair iron really work? Well, I’ve got to tell you that the Instyler works great!!! In general, I don’t really trust “as seen on tv” products very much but now I know that some of them do work great. In fact, I have lots of friends who have also had amazing results from the Instyler. By the way, you should know that I don’t usually get so excited about hair care products but this one has changed my life.
Now, I know some of you might be thinking that the infomercial show seemed to make some remarkable claims. And you’re probably also wondering, “does the Instyler work well in real life also?”

I’m telling you, the Instyler can do it all! When it comes to straightening your hair (including straightening roots), I’ve never seen anything that works like the Instyler. The Instyler works on ethnic hair too! One of my African American friends told me that she gets the same results with her Instyler as well. Another friend of mine who was blessed with naturally straight hair (don’t be jealous girls) uses the Instyler to style her bangs and to flip it in or flip it out depending on her mood when she wakes up each day. Of course it can also create body and volume in just a few minutes.
I know that there are so many women out there that hope and pray that this product really can do all that it promises. And I know that every time you watch the infomercial you wonder if it’s possible that one product can make your hair look so amazing? Well, take my advice, now is the right time to stop wondering and go find out for yourself. That’s because the people over at Instyler are offering a special limited time offer that allows you to get a 30-Day No Risk trial of the Instyler for only $14.99.

For only $14.99, you owe it to yourself to see how well the Instyler Rotating Hair Iron can work for you.

I LOVE my InStyler!! I have long, fine hair, but a lot of it, and the InStyler not only smooths it (without my having to use a hairdryer/round brush-combo I’ve been doing for years!), but it does it wet OR dry (a MAJOR time-saver). I usually just comb my hair out, after I get out of the shower, let my InStyler heat up (which takes seconds), and put it in my hair like a curling iron (you don’t have to use your second hand, like you do with flat irons). Then, I just take section after section and my hair is smoothed AND dried in five minutes (and it usually takes me at least 20, if not more). Love it!
do yourself a favor and buy this product!! mine just came in the mail today and it works wonders on my hair. im mixed with black, white, and indian so i hav that realy poofy/curly hair. the instyle tames my hair and gives it shine!!
GREAT PRODUCT
i orderd mine but havent recived it yet i cant wait though how long didit take for you to get yours
Do u know you don’t have to order it online you can buy it at a store like Target. but it is not buy one get one free of course!
Hi, what is the website to buy one and get one free???
Im waiting on my instyler im really excited about it to see if it really works if anyone wants to leave me pictures or tips on using it let me know
I Love mine!!! I have Frizzy and thick hair , and my Instyler works really good!!! its the best!!! I will recommended!!!
I bought the instyler for my wife for her birthday present and she has medium thick hair about mid way down her back and it straightens it pretty good, but the straightening doesn’t last very long.
I am an African American female with long course hair and the instyler works wonders for my hair by not only straightening it but giving it a silky look as well. I was skeptical at first but after using it I am very happy with it. I used a flat iron before buying the instyler and my hair has never been this straight and shiny. I do continue using my own hair products though.
I bought the instyler and I tried to use it and it was taking too long. I have really thick, course, frizzy hair. It seems like it may work for fine, semi-curly hair, but definitely not mine. In order to get my hair really straight I have to get pretty close to my roots, and that’s very hard to do with the instyler.
Melanie
The remedy for your type of hair is use instyler while your hair is semi wet. I do that for my daughter and you need to part your hair little by little and use instyler and belive me you will have shiny straight hairs.
i have wavy, and extremely thick hair. i watched the infomercial for the instyler for the past three sundays and i am very interested to see if it would work. it looks like it would do wonders for my enourmously thick hair. my mom cuts my hair (im 13) and she told me i have enough hair for three people. i know it would still take time, but i am willing to try it. any suggestions? if i am convinced enough, i might ask my mom to get it for me from the infomercial. please, give me any comments, experiences, anything to help me out. thank you!!!
Hey Katy i am an indian and you know we have long thick black hairs. I have used instyler and used this on my daughter too. her hair is curly thick. and this has worked wonder for her. now she need not keep her hair short.
So you can show your mom this reivew of mine and get one for your self
I just got my instyler today.. and it works!! i recommend you use products with it though to prevent your hair from getting frizzy fast.. my hair is naturally pretty fine and long.. but always has a wavy look to it and it got rid of it.. i’ve had it done for hours and it has not become frizzy or poofy..
I got it as a gift, i wouldn’t pay that much for it and it doesn’t work that well. i would rather spend good money on a good flat iron. my hair is medium texture and there is a lot of it. the instyler is very hot and makes my hair very dry, on the lowest setting it doesn’t do anything. i won’t be using it.
My ceramic flat iron does such a better job than the instyler.
In short, it works. I have long, wavy hair that is naturally curly, and I usually wear it in a just-out-of-the-shower look or a ponytail because it takes too much time, effort and heat on my hair to maintain any other type of style.
The first time I tried it, I did it with my hair wet. It DOES work. It doesn’t get at the roots to well that way, but it works as promised, though not as quickly as the informercial would have you to believe. That said, it doesn’t take a LONG time – about 3-5 passes to get a section dry and straight, as opposed to the ONE pass shown on the commercial.
The second time I used it (last night) I washed my hair, brushed it back into a ponytail and went about my day until it was dry. Last night, no lie, TEN MINUTES with the Instyler and my hair looks great. Slept on it even, made a few swipes through a few sections this morning to “bend” the ends and it looks great.
Used it also on my two teen daugthers, whose hair is a lot coarser than mine and, though it works, I think that it would work better on relaxed hair.
A few small changes I would make:
1. Would make the barrel just slightly smaller. Even though I have long hair that should wrap around the barrell easily, it is too hard, one-handed, to become deft enough to work the tool as a curling iron to curl hair.
2. Would make the brush bristles a litte stiffer. After only a few uses, the brush bristles are beginning to bend, and likely will become too bent to work properly in a short time.
All in all, I would definitely recommend the product.
Does not work like it shows and it is bulky and takes too long to get results. I would not recommend this to anyone, waste of good money and return policy is a joke.
Hi Everyone,
I am shocked to see such negative feedback on the Instyler. I have been using mine for 3 weeks, and it is the best hair tool that I have ever used. I have long, curly, thick, frizzy hair, and it makes my hair silky soft with an abundance of body. Yesterday, I brought mine to show my hairdresser and everyone was going nuts over it; in fact, I think they picked up a few sales during the demonstration. My biggest fear (after reading some of these blogs) was that the tool was damaging my hair, and my hairdresser told me my hair was in perfect condition.
Look, I’ve bought just about every product and tool on the market to help control my hair, but I’ve never had much luck. This tool is amazing. If your hair is similiar to mine and you didn’t like it, I suggest that you play around with it a little more. I can’t believe that it is possible to have such extreme results with the same type of hair. For those of you who have fine hair, I can’t say how it works for you; however, for thick, frizzy, curly hair, it works very well.
I would hate to see people with hair similiar to mine, dissuaded from purchasing this product due to negative feedback posted. Using the Instyler has made my hair fantastic! Don’t be afraid to give it a try.
I’m sorry. On top of a one month wait period for delivery this product is not satisfactory. 1st of all, it’s loud. When it’s early in the morning and you are trying to do your hair, you do not want to hear the whizzing noise of the Instyler. 2. It does straighten and it does curl, but it does an average job of it. 3. Returning this thing or speaking to customer service is a joke. Negative for me.
~K~
By the way, I am of African American descent and have ethnic hair. Like I said, it works but on an average level. A cheap flat iron does the exact same thing. Oh, and just for the record, it doesn’t polish hair like it says it does either. Just thought you should know…
I’m hispanic and have fine hair
I purchased the instyler and have had it about
1 month.. and it works GREAT for ME i’m in my second year of cosmetology school and have to say its a impressive product, many clients have been impressed by it ..I think you just have too know how to use it.. A +
I am very surprised to see negative comments on the InStyler. I have had mine for one week, and though I havent used it for the wet-to-dry, on a daily basis it has worked wonders for my hair. I am Black and PuertoRican and have thick dry hair. The InStyler DOES POLISH my hair and it has cut my AM styling time from 20-30 minutes with hot rollers and flat irons to 5-10 minutes tops. Pros: It polishes my hair, smoothes it out, cuts down styling time, heats up quickly. It also is able to curl by adding heat to the under layer of hair, instead of heating hair from the top, which is good because the top layers of the hair are weaker from exposure and tend to break easier. I received 2 of them for about $150, and this is very good considering ConAir makes a very impressive flat iron called the Infinity for about $60, and the Nano for $80 (I returned the Nano bc it did not accomplish its goals). Cons: It is a bit noisy, and I do wish that either the bristles were harder, or that I could apply a bit more pressure. But I would definitely recommend it to others. Make sure you comb out the hair with a fine toothed comb first, just one swipe and with that, run the InStyler through and you will be amazed. I am sending the second one to my mom. Hope this helps someone. RECOMMENDED!!!
well i’ve had mine for about a month and I’m not happy with it. i mean it straghtens pretty nice but so does my 20 dollar remighton from walmart and on that note my remighton flat iron curls better than the instyler…
My mother purchased the instyler and it was very loud and made my hair smell a little burnt. I have very curly hair, and I wanted something that would keep the moisture in my hair, not dry it out. I hope my mother will be able to return it. The instyler didn’t work for me, but It might work for someone else.
I got my instyler yesterday. It cost about $150 dollars. I love it. I gave the second one to my daughter for her birthday.
I have saw a lot of negative comments on the product.I ordered it, then read the reviews so I was worried I might have made a mistake.
Glad I ordered first. Flat irons and curling irons damaged my hair. This really smooths my hair. I think it is the best thing I have bought in a long time. I encourage you to give it a try!!
I received my Instyler as a gift, and would never buy one or recommend it to anyone. While it appears to work good in the infomercial, I didn’t have good results. I have thick wavy to naturally curly hair and this only made my hair frizzy and dry looking. No shine whatsoever, if anything it made my hair far more dull then my flat iron. It gets hot, and with the design of it it’s way too easy to burn yourself with the exposed barrel. It may work better for you if you have thin or limp hair, it seemed to fluff up at the roots of my hair (which I personally didn’t like) but if you want volume it does work for that.. You just need to be able to put up with the loud annoying noise it makes! Overall, I wouldn’t buy it or recommend it.. I’m sticking to my flat iron!
I just ordered the InStyler and I was skeptical after reading the reviews, but thought I would try it anyway. I LOVE IT!! I took it out of the box immediately, and had 30 minutes before I had to get to work, so I gave it a whirl. I am black, with relaxed hair–I’m a little under 2 weeks since my last treatment. My hair did not have any curl to it, only a little oil sheen that I think I put in a few days ago. I was operating in pony tail mode. I sectioned off large chunks of my hair and did just about each section with one pass. I only did more than one pass when I wanted to add more curl. When I finished my hair was silkier, shinier and full of body with a lot of curl! I used to pay a guy about 70-80 a week for him to do this with a flat iron and I couldn’t get it to last for more than a few days. Now I have the ability to do it on my own. I am confident that I will get better results, once I really learn how to work the iron. It was pretty straightforward. I would recommend it to others.
Oh and just so every one knows, it’s always best to make sure your hair is COMPLETELY DRY. It may take more time but healthier for your hair. This goes for all hot hair irons.
I honestly was terrified when I read half the reviews on the instyler. I had my husband order it for me and than decided to check somne reviews. I waited about 8 days for it to come and when I recieved it I honestly loved it. I have very thick wavy hair and it not only straightened my hair super fast but made my hair look as though I went to the salon. It was volumous and I couldn’t stop looking at it in the mirror. The only con I can say is it’s loud. Not something I can use while the kids are sleeping. But since it works so fast I can use it real quick when their awake and I’m good to go. If your questioning to try it or not I say go for it. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT.
I have had my Instyler for about a week and granted I still need to experiment with it, So far I think it is great. I have very thick hair and usually just straighten it because it takes to long to do anything else, and now with my Instyler I can curl it and straighten it in one easy step. I think it does a great job and my favorite part about it is that I can really style my hair in no time at all. Its a great time saver!!!!
Well I got my instyler today. I tried it tonight after I got out of the shower. I completely dried my hair before using the instyler. There may have been a lite dampness at my roots. I have really long curly hair. When I blow dry it straight I look like a lion. It is one big puff ball. So I was very nervous, hoping the instyler worked. Especially after what I am spending on it. I am proud to say it works great I LOVE IT. So if you have tried all kinds of things to straighten your hair look no further this really works.
Recommended! A+
It works I swear it does. I have a fro BIG TIME now I’m sexy as hell lol for real!!!
I got the Instyler about one month ago and it just died on me. So I am disappointed and not feeling particularly comfortable about recommending the Instyler. Could just be a fluke though.
I love the instyler. I have very thick wavy hair. My hair looks like it did in high school, and that was 27 years ago. It does take a few passes but the trick is to go slow. If you don’t know how to use other hair stylers it will take time to get use to. But once you get a handle on it, it will be much faster. Plus you need to buy the upgrade for the hotter iron. If you buy the original it probably won’t be hot enough. And read the instructions first that always helps.
DON’T GIVE UP! IT TAKES TIME, At least it did for me, TO GET USE TO holding it right and mastering how it works best with your hair type… after the first time I was skeptical.
after the 2nd use I was surprised how much I accomplished and LOVED IT!
by the 2nd time I was able to get past just volumizing my hair… after which I went over sections with the barrel on top and was able to tame down the volume and get a wispy twist
to the ends. even achieved the spiky bangs and spiky sides without any effort. that was my biggest surprise. I think its all in the wrist.
My only wish is the barrel was a little smaller. but otherwise I’m very pleased.
as for price: you can always give the 2nd instyler as a gift.
I really like mine, It makes my hair have more volume and look healthier.
I love it!!!! I am a 23 year old black female with curly hair slightly relaxed, and for the past 10+ years I have never been able to achieve the ‘straight’ look that people do on my hair. I always need someone else to do my hair so that it looks good. Whenever I use a flat iron, it is always puffy and not smooth or silky. I washed my hair, dryed it (no trying the towel dry method for me), separated into parts and started the process. My hair looked great! and in a pretty short amount of time. I loved it, especially the part that I did myself! The cons are the price, and the rotation is a bit loud, but easy to get use to, I am very pleased and would recommend it!
I have used my instyler for about 10 days. I have the naturally curly and frizzy hair with Asian type. The Instyler does work for me. It is better than the other irons I used before. But do not expect the amazing result as you see on the TV show. I will say it is better than the average.
My mom bought two instylers, one for me and one for her. I got a shower this morning, then blow dried it. That was right after lunch. A half hour before dinner I used mine, and it did the same exact thing as my Conair Ceramic Flat Iron. It sraightened just a small bit quicker though. It didn’t make my hair”shiney” or “super smooth.” My hair is thin and a little dry. The instyleronly works to make your smooth if you go over it about ten times.
I have very thick frizzy hair and the instyler works perfectly for me. It doesn’t work really well if my hair is damp. Though it says you can use it with damp hair. Maybe it’s because my hair is so thick. When my hair is dry I get amazing results and many compliments. I highly recommend this product.
I order the instyler for my daughter for Christmas… She tried it that day, said she didn’t like it so I immediately returned it.
i bought one two weeks ago and got it last week. I immediately tried it on my sister’s hair and my hair and was really disappointed on the result. I would rather use my flat iron. I am returning the product today.
I am Black with medium corse hair and I love the results I achieve with the InStyler. I have never been comfortable with pressing my hair myself and never really know if the people I pay know what they are doing. The younger hair stylist does not know how to press very well without burning you. And if I try to do it, I tend to sweat out the press before I finish.
The InStyler allows me to “press” my hair myself without sweating or damaging my hair. When I pass the InStyler over a section of hair, it is not hot to the touch.
After reading the other comments, I have come to these conclusions:
* For course hair, purchase the heating upgrade for the hotter settings. Also practice with the mid and high temp settings.
* Use styling products made for flat iron use to help protect the hair, like a leave in conditioner (e.g. VO5 Heat Defense Conditioning Spray) in generous amounts.
* Pass the InStyler slowly (keep in mind the temp setting you are using). Begin as close to the roots as you can and hold for about 8 – 10 seconds before you begin the pass down the section of hair.
* Follow the inclosed instructions that guide you in the best way to section the hair. This will assist you in quickly and efficiently completing the task. (This alone will greatly reduce stress).
* Have the following accessories ready: Sectioning clips, Detangling comb, leave in conditioner. After detangling and drying the hair, section the hair with the clips. As you work with a section of hair, first apply the conditioner then the InStyler.
* Once you are finished, use an electric hot comb to touch up the roots in the center of the head and around the front edges and the nape.
Have patients!
I would really like to speak to you further on this. I have been transitioning for the past 5 months. I now use a pressing comb on my roots once every w weeks. Wash once a week. My hair is shoulder length and has courser texture in the middle. Would love to actually see your results with the instyler. Can you send pictures?
Susanne
Okay ladies, I have very thick, asian/ polynesian hair – enough for 3 people. I don’t have a lot of curl, but it’s “big hair” I bit the bullet and bought the instyler. I have a chi-iron which works fine. But low and behold -I thought I’d have to practice for a long time to get the hang of a new appliance, but I tried it once and BAM – the best thing about this is… My hair is shiny and the instyler gives me the “styling control” that the chi-iron does not. It does not give me PIN straight hair, but than nothing does unless I’ve got a ton of time or I get someone else to do it… I’ve stopped trying to fight nature. But the instyler does give me really great style AND it does straighten the friz and the bigness. I’ll practice for a while, but over all I’m very happy. It’s easy to get the under curl or flip over curl… but then I am very ambidextrous. Come on girls… beauty doesn’t come easy… and if we have to work at a little, so be it. I would definitely recommend this product, it will NOT just sit on your shelf and trust me… I’ve got the kind of hair that takes a little work.
OKAY Update ! After playing with my in-styler and yes it does everything it says it is going to do my daughters had a get together with all there friends and all though they do love there CHI’S they all loved the in-styler and wanted to play doing each others hair and wow it is amazing it truly did do several styles from straight to just beautiful soft curls I think I love the flip look the best on myself and wanted to say 3 of us have perms and you all know what hair looks like blow dried from dryer well it went from total unruled untamed wild banchi look to soft relaxed shiny hair I believe in my heart now the a lot of the complaints on here are direct results of the cost of the straighteners so once again skip the trial pay it upfront negotiate the price you can and will save money by doing this So good luck and just remember everyone’s hair is different but, I must say mine is a total mess and if it can do mine I am sure it can do yours !
I have considered purchasing an InStyler, and it looks as though it is a very well done product. It sounds fabulous, and it looks as though it works for people with long, curly, thick, frizzy hair (like me). Thank you!
the instyler has nothing to do with your wife’s hair getting freezy. she should try this great product call moisture block it works great at blocking out the freeze from hair.
I received my Instyler about 3 days ago. It’s working pretty well. The only problem is that it’s hard to reach my roots. I have thick and curly hair and it works great. My hair would start curling if it’s cold or misty out, but after I used the Instyler and went outside, my hair was not frizzy nor did it start to curl at all. I was hesitating at first to get it, but it works for me and I’m glad I got it. All in all, I like it.
when you decribed your hair it reminds me of mine im glad to hear it works for you
I used my friends second one and I love it. I am African-American and while I currently have lightly relaxed hair, my hair unrelaxed is a bit coarser than the woman with the tightly curled hair. So all I have to do is airdry it in a ponytail and then flat iron. I wanted to cut that step out.
But back to the In styler. I really like it. I haven’t gotten the hang of curling it, but it straightens my hair just as if I went to a Dominican salon. I really like the instyler a lot and will be purchasing mine ASAP!
I can’t believe the reviews are so drastically different! I LOVE my instyler! I have thick curly-wavy hair and it works great for my type of hair. I haven’t tried wet to dry. But it straightens and gives body which my straight iron definitely does not do.
My Instyler is a big disappointment. It does not work well for me at all. Maybe mine’s defective but the only part of the installer that stays cool is the handle every other inch of it gets too hot!
I just got an InStyler. Playing with it for the first time. It works. I like it.
Hi Everyone!
I am an African American woman of Nigerian decent. My hair shoulder length and thick and relaxed. I received the instyler ripped open the box and used it for about 10 minutes and my hair looks like how it would had I blown it out and then flat ironed and then curled under for a bump. In my opinion IT WORKS GREAT. I don’t understand why ppl are shocked about the fees I ordered online and it was plain as day! I suggest selling your second one to a friend because after all costs its about 70 each since they offer you two. The key is the brush because your getting a blow out and flat iron at the same time without both process.
Also for African American women for deep conditioning and shine. Use Raw shea butter. Rub it in with your conditioner and sit under a dryer for 15 minutes and wash out completely. I have coarse thick hair and I have never found anything that shines and grows my hair like raw shea butter and its dirt cheap.
Love my Instyler! Are you lovin yours too?
Ordering the InStyler with my cousin!! Goodbye flat, straight, boring, damaged hair and hello soft, sleek, sexy, touchable hair!!
JUST GOT AN INSTYLER… LOVE IT!
I got my InStyler last week and I really like it. My CHI flat iron didn’t do as good of job as the InStyler. My results with flat irons is that it made my ends “look crunchy” is the way I describe it. I need to work more with it on my bangs, I have never had good luck with my bangs anyways. I like that I can do soft curls on my hair, I have never been able to do it without looking like Shirley Temple. Plus I have no body to my hair what so ever, and it is pretty fine. I really like what the InStyler has done so far. I give it an A+.
I also bought the Instyler and I love it. I bought it on eBay.com and got a really good price.
I purchased the instyler for my daughter’s hair. My daughter has relaxed hair. I blow dryed her hair and then used the instyler. Wow–it gave her a beautiful shine and then I bumped the ends. It looks like I took her to a salon.
The flat irons I purchased in the past burned her ends and made her hair brittle. This product leaves her with shiny beautiful hair with a bump on the ends–no more damage to her ends. I love it!
I love the Instyler. I’ve been using it for about 3 weeks. What type of conditioner and/or gel products is best to keep the hair shiny? Any suggestions? Thanks.
A good post on a good blog, this will certainly help my buying decision for a hair straightener.
The Instyler is the BEST tool EVER! After washing & drying my hair, and with absolutely NO hair product applied, the Instyler tames my frizzy mop to smooth, shiny hair that moves in the breeze! I shudder at all the $$$ I wasted over the year on hair creams, gels, oils, you name it, to tame my frizzy hair. There’s just one thing to be CAREFUL of: Keep the Instyler AWAY from your forehead when doing your bangs!!! I have 3 small burn marks from the rotating barrel. Now I fold up a bandanna and put it right on my forehead before working my bangs. Other than that, I wish I had this tool in high school!
Just received the InStyler which I bought for my daughter. I have one comment of praise and one of caution. First, it works great in straightening the hair. My teen daughter loves the outcome. My only words of caution is that IT IS HOT!! The rotating roller heats up to over 300 degrees with NO external protective measures for the face, ears or hands. Please be extremely careful if you have small children at home, and during your personal use. Otherwise, it is a wonderful product. For those who do not have such good results, maybe try using smaller quantities of hair and moving the unit a bit slower while straightening. Good luck and use with caution!
So hard to believe so many varying results. I LOVE this thing. What is most amazing to me is that I have relaxed hair. I haven’t had a touch up in over 3 months and went to the hair dresser to get color and she made a comment after washing my hair that I should have gotten a touch up because I had so much new growth. In the past when this has happened and she has then went on to flat iron my hair the hair, the new growth would be very difficult to straighten and of course would still be pretty wavy and not sit right. WELL, this time (and I think she was somewhat perlexed) she flat ironed it and it was like I had just received a relaxer! The hair at the scalp is so straight and smooth! I may never get another relaxer again.
I do have a question for everyone, have you noticed that the Instyler is changing the grade of your hair? I mean in a good way. I am African American and although I have always had pretty nice hair this thing makes my hair look like someone who is Asian. Hopefully that is not offensive to anyone, I have just always admired how beautiful Asian women’s hair is, very straight, shiny and healthy looking. So anyone else notice this happening?
I LOVE MY INSTYLER! This thing is a godsend for me. I have thick, frizzy hair and it is the only tool that works. I’ve owned MANY flat irons and nothing works like this.
I ordered mine on a Saturday night and it was in my mailbox on the Tuesday morning! And I live in Canada!!
I love it and highly recommend it to anyone sick of spending hours smoothing out their hair.
My hair is very long (down to my waist) is color treated, baby fine but very think and frizzy/curly. The instyler is WONDERFUL!!! It just takes some time getting used to. I was used to having a tip of a curling iron to hold on too and you can’t do that with this, it’s a one hand deal, but the results are totally awesome! I get get great sleek shiney hair or big loose curls. Try it ladies, you’ll love it!
At first, I was a little scared to buy the Instyler after reading some of the negative reviews. But then was encouraged again when I read Ms. Davis’ comments (very sensible, I think – no matter what the heat styling tool you should probably use some form of heat protector first, which is what I intend to do!). Also, when I read Brenda’s experience of curling irons giving her “crunchy” ends (same thing happens to me – very annoying) I decided to bite the bullet and try it out. I ordered mine yesterday and am looking forward to trying it out. Will definitely let you all know how it goes! (P.S. Thanks much for your comments)
I LOVE MY INSTYLER!!!!! Every girl in my family has different hair and it really does work on all of us!!! I love this product!!! I have thin long black hair and it gives it soooo much body!! I can straighten, curl, or just give my hair body with ease!!!
Got the Instyler yesterday, tried it right away band love it. It works a lot like a flat iron but the curling iron barrel is cool cuz you can flip the ends, and it works pretty good. It actually takes a little longer than my flat iron but that’s ok for me! I have thick (real thick) hair and it really flattens its out. I just added it to my collection!
I got my instyler today and I think it works wonderful. I used a heat protectant to keep it from ruining my hair and then I put so root lifter and it looks like I just left the salon. You have to move slowly down the hair, I just did a once over and it look amazing!! Definately would recommend for woman with very thin fine hair.
I was looking for a site to see if instyler was all it was cracked up to be before i purchase it. i am black, and have very thick and frizzy hair like most of you, i’m gonna order the instyler and let you guys know how well it worked for me. just to let you get a sense of how unrully my hair is, when i wash it, even after a relaxer, its a poofy hot mess!!!! i then try to blow dry it straight, still a thick puffball, i am lightskinned, i should have better hair than this!!! i have every flat iron imiginable, they worked when i first got them but now they burn and crisp my ends and hair, i was frustrated til i saw the informercial on the instyler, so when i get it and try it i will post picks of before and after, this should clear up confussion of if it works on difficult african american hair as it says it does!!!!! i can’t wait!!!! wish me luck!!!!
I bought the Instyler and tried it today. My hair is at my shoulder-blades, is curly, thick and has some coarseness to it. Normally with my blow-dryer and boar-bristle brush it takes me 45mins to an hour to dry straight.
With the Instyler I found that it did some of what it claims it will do. It does straighten and right from the roots but here are the cons. My ends did not come come out looking sleek as they claim but instead came out looking feeling frizzy. It took me just as much time as with my blowdryer because it does not take one pass, it actually takes several and overall my hair looked dry. Yes I did use a thermal protector before using the instyler.
But I have always used the philosophy of trying something at least twice before making a decision. So before throwing it out, I am willing to give it another try and see if the results will be any different. I will report on that session.
Got the Instyler about two weeks ago and it doesnt staighten well!!! My flatiron does a waaaay better job. Tried returning it like 3x already but they keep saying that I need to get used to it…so still trying with no good results yet. The humidity makes it waaay worse! I am indian and have hair about halfway down my back that is wavy, it shouldn’t be this hard. I’ve honesty given it a good try. I doesn’t get it straight..just straighter than what it was. LOL. The minute i step out my front door in the humidity my hair takes on different directions. I’m going back to my $50 flatiron. Its a bit longer but it does the job well for ALOT longer. Sorry Instyler, I really wanted to believe in you.
i love the instyler im glad i bought it off ebay bran new n 4 only 75! it works like 98.9 percent betta than sum lame flat iron
I just got me Instyler and I like it. It does polish your hair and it removed the frizzy in my hair. But it is a little hard to use overall it is worth it.
I have VERY fine, long, wavey hair. My problem with the instyler is that my hair falls through it even when I hold all the way down. I just spent a half hour with the instyler to get one side of my hair to be poofy, then I took out my flat iron and did the other side perfectly in five. I may be sticking with my flat iron.
Does anyone here have hair extensions? I used to use the Revo-Styler (I believe same company made it) with my extensions with great results, but it just broke and now I’m considering the In-Styler.
Will it work on short, think hair? I have been thinking about getting it to see if it will give me some volume. Has anyone tried it on short hair?
I have been interested in The Instyler for quite some time now. I have heard good reviews as well as bad reviews. I am confused whether to buy this product or not. I have wavy, and somewhat straight, dry, medium length hair, that doesn’t hold a curl very well, or at all. I like my hair crimped and I was wondering if this product crimps hair.
Please write back if you have hair like mine or similar to my hair. Tell me how it works for you and if you think I should buy this product. This product looks great but I have seen some reviews that make me think twice about buying it. $15.00 seems like a great price for this, but if it’s this cheap I was also thinking that maybe it’s not a reliable product.
Thanks so much! =)
Omg from all the good review im reading im starting to think you guys got paid. . . I just ordered my instyler and im SOOOO excited!! i have very coarse, thick, kinky hair and my flat iron makes it still and gives me NO MOVEMENT so im excited for the movement that is promised. it also takes me 1 hour to straighten my hair and it only lasts about a couple of hours until it gets frizzy. . . NOT FUN. im sooooo excited and i will post again when i get it, bye and thanks to all who post
Gracie
oh yeah and i got the quick thingy so its supposed to come in 10 days
well, i realy don’t know if i should get this or not. so far from all of the comments left above, i’ve counted 41 positive comments, 11 negative, and 5 in the middle/either way.
you see, i have red hair; my aunt has extremely poofy and curly hair.. and my hair is similar to her’s but not to her extreme. when i use my flat iron, my hair doesn’t always get completely straight, most of the time it’s relatively straight but still has waves and one side of my hair will flip a certain way and the other side doesn’t do anything i want it to. it’s really annoying especially when you’ve gotta go somewhere and your hair is a total reck and doesn’t look a thing like you want it to look like.
i play bass guitar and i go for a rocker look. i do crazy stuff to my hair but have never dyed it. sometimes when i run out of crazy ideas to do with my hair, i just would like it to be straight. so is this a good tool to get or not?

~beth~
I think it’s fair to say that this blog is a paid advertisement by Instyler.
This product seems like a waste of money. $14.99 would have been a deal for this, but not for a 30 day trial! Why would I pay almost $200 for a cheap looking product that many claim does not work at all like advertised?
Let us read the small print, actually, that is found at the bottom of your webpage, perhaps? Oh, look at this here: “Note: This site may earn commissions from sales that generate from links to the products reviewed.”.
I think that says it all.
I have blonde, processed hair that is kind of fine. It tends to be on the dry side because of coloring and using heat to style it. Do you think the Instyler will be too harsh on my hair? Flat irons I’ve used in the past really dry it out because I have to use more heat to get the smooth look. Thanks….
Lori
I just got my in styler and love it. It makes my hair feel like I was at the salon such a great tool
yea it looks great!! but your hair still looks a frizzy and i want my hair to be straight and silky and smooth that didnt look smooth or silky
I’m just wondering how your hair is when you chose not to straighten it. I am african american with hair that is super curly– cork screws, that I love. However, sometimes I just want to change it up. I had it flat ironed recently, and it was bone straight! I loved it. But when I was ready to wear it back in its curly state I found that huge sections would not curl back. It’s been weeks and my hair isn’t back to what it used to be. I would love to try the Instyler, but I want to make sure that my hair can return to the curls if I so chose… anyone have any light to shed on this subject?
This product works; it won’t crush your hair meaning no frizzy hair. Your hair will look beautiful and all, but this hair straightener leaves a burning smell in your hair and it’s not that fast either, maybe a little faster than a regular hair straightener. It also leaves some of your hair in the bristle brushes. I liked the way it worked except leaving a burning smell in my hair. I never expected that and I only used it only once. I own this product only a week.
I ordered by Instylers for my daughters and myself, and here it is three weeks later and we still have not received them. I paid for the “express shipping”, which I thought would have sped things up some. We are all so excited about getting and trying it out, that we are impatient, which is why I paid for the express shipping. How long is it taking for others to get theres? I am starting to get concerned. Maybe we are just being too anxious.
Yeah, I don’t get the mixed reviews. I love my InStyler. I really can’t imagine a product doing more.
And to Lulu above, yes, the beauty of the product is that it seems to prevent damage. I see from your comment that the product you used last might have burned you hair. You wouldn’t have that problem with the InStyler.
I bought an Instyler and IT IS AMAZING!!!!
I have frizzy damaged fine hair and on the lowest setting it took me 5 minutes to do my entire head with a result that looked as good as a salon blowout. I suck at blowdrying and straightening irons make my hair to fake-flat. But the Instyler polished it and gave me an amazing shiny flip on the ends. I just can’t get over how great it works — just like the infomercial.
will be purchasing mine soon….can’t wait to see the results….will keep you posted.
The InStyler didn’t work for mine and my daughter’s hair. Maybe it only works for longer length hair and not medium lengths. The hair also gets caught around the moving barrel. We didn’t like it.
Ok, Im very confused- I am thinking about purchasing the InStyler, but im getting Mixed Reviews! any tips or comments….. help?!
i love the instyler. i have never try anything like it. i also though there was nothing like it.
i love my instyler i definitely recomend girls to use this product it works like a charm.
OMG1 love it
I am waiting upon the arrival of my Instyler. I have HORRIBLE hair. It’s coarse, thick, kinky hair and I hate it. It seems just as soon as I get outside it’s a fro and I am white, so it’s a little weird. I have the Maxiglide and it works pretty good but it just takes forever to do my hair, however it was worth the money. I am just looking for something quicker. So if this product doesn’t work for you I would try the Maxiglide. It is great.
But I am still excited to get something that can curl and straighten. =)
I am SO gonna buy it! ya know being a puerto rican,Black, mexican,Cherokee, and blackfoot indian, you wouldn’t expect me to have the wild hair i do now. lol
SOO I just got the instyler.. I was very skeptical at first but I have been proved wrong! I am of black and east indian ethnicity so my hair is very curly and doesn’t like to be straightened. I have been through a number of products that even though they work have fried, and broke my hair..
I only put it through twice and my hair is straight! Like as straight as they do in the salon after hours and hours.. I used a good size piece of hair and to my surprise my hair wasn’t fried at all. It was easy to get to the roots and do my hair just the way i like it.. Straight but not stringy.. with lots of life!! Thanks Instyler..
I hope this helps those of you with natural hair who aren’t sure if it works..
Hi! I’ve watched the infomercial on the Instyler, and it seemed to work great. I’m just skeptical if it could really work on my hair without problems. My hair is thick, curly, and long and I usually flat iron it. But my ends have become really dry, and I’m tired of having to use hair product after hair product to make it less frizzy. Does anyone know if it will work on my hair type? Thanks so much!
i had the instyler for about 3 weeks. And it doesnt work for. my hair is really frizzy wavy and thick. and it still doesnt work
ok so i just ordered my instyler, i have a chi, i have the youstyle by conair and i love my chi but i have color processed blonde hair that is super thick and curley however very fine so when i straiten it (like i do every day) i get noooo body and i cant curl it under at all. after seeing the video and all your posts im so excited to buy mine. no more crunchy, “kinky” ends when i straiten then curl it under yay!!!!
My hair is thick, curly, frizzy and unruly. I have had about 4 hair stylers and none of them worked! I am purchasing the instyler soon and I’m stoked to finally wear my hair down!!!!!
Does the instyler work good on short hair
I’m waiting for my In-styler I REALLY hope it works, my relaxer has been growing out of my hair and my hair has been VERY curly lately so whenever i straighter it, it gets poofy.
hi! i am under 18 nd i wanted 2 noe if the instyler would work 4 me if i tried it i was thinkin bout savin my allownce nd askin my mom order it 4 me. i am black, costa rican, cherokee, white nd jaimcan nd my hair is thick always frizzy nd hard 2 handle. my hair is not very long(just a lil bit above my shoulders when straigten) nd i wanted 2 noe if it work for my hair or is it a waste of time i have been on numerous websites nd gettin mixed views sayin its a waste of time nd the return policy is bad etc etc also i have had numerous of flat irons nd dey dnt work so should i get the instyler or not plzs help!!!
Sounds like it works well for straight and fine or relaxed hair. Any PERSONAL experience with naturally curly, coarse, thick hair, not relaxed? Also, I’m prone to burning myself with curling and flat irons. Is it easier to burn yourself with this product? I’ve heard and read a lot of horror stories about burning (skin) with this.
How well does the inslyler curl your hair I don’t want the straight look I want a curly look. Let me know about this if it curls I may get one if not then it would not be for me…. Thank you ….. Christine
I bought the Instyler and used it on 11/2/09. I think it is a really good product so far. I have long, curly, thick hair and I was able to get it very straight by using this iron. I don’t think that my hair looks as great as it could be because I only used it once and I can tell I need a bit of practice with it for me to get my hair to look exactly as I would like it to. This is because I am not skilled in using a flat iron. I think people you use flat irons are going to find this product to work very well for them. It seems like it didn’t burn, fry, damage my hair at all. The insert says that you can use the iron on damp hair but they recommend it to be used on dry hair with no product in it for the best results. It makes sense because I tried it on my slightly damp hair last night and I had to go over my hair a few times before it got as straight as I wanted it to be. So when I was about 75% complete with straightening my hair, I blew out the rest of my curls briefly and then used the iron. It looked great and I straightened that section so quickly. Since I have long, curly, thick hair, going forward I am going to blow out my towel dried hair using a comb attachment and then use the Instyler. Basically I think I will be able to straighten my hair with the iron in probably a half hour to forty minutes if I blow it out first. If you have short or mid length, loose curly or wavy hair you will be able to straighten your hair in less than a half hour for sure. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants to straighten their hair without damaging it and who doesn’t want to spend time or money in salon to have someone else straighten your hair. Also it was not hard at all to straight the hair in the back of my head. If you buy this production just keep in mind that if you aren’t skilled in straightening your hair with a flat iron, you are going to have to practice a bit with it before you get the hang of it. I just hope it doesn’t break like some people have mentioned in their reviews. Good luck!
Hi, i really want an Instyler for my hair im African American and white and my hair is messed up its curly, frizzy, nappy, fried, thick and all of that and i wanted to ask you guys it the Instyler will work on my hair im younger like 13 younger and i get teased with the hair i have at school like all the popular kids have PERFECT STRAIGHT HAIR and that’s what i want but in a healthier, smooth , and pretty. I want my hair look like a full white girls hair lol please tell me if this is right:)
It seems everyone commenting has thick, curly, coarse or longer hair. What about jawline length very fine straight hair with zero body will not hold curl nothing will this work? I am ready to order it but am not sure
i love it the instyler wen my mom use it on me i was happey i dont have to use the reguler one this works good i mma tell all my frends
Hi, I am African-American and I want to know, does the instyler work on virgin hair? I don’t have any relaxers in my hair, it’s course and thick. In order to use a flat iron, first, I have to straighten my hair with a straightening comb; which takes hours. Can the instyler cut the straightening process in half?
I recently purchased the instyler from a China website called “cheapinstyler.com” for the low price of $35.00 with free shipping. That’s the cheapest I have seen it. They had one at Walgreens for $100.00 and I compared them to see if there was any difference. THERE IS NOT ANY DIFFERENCE IN THE UNIT. It is the exact same hair iron! As a matter of fact, all instyler’s are made in China. The only difference is, in the US they are required to put a caution tag on the unit due to the content of LEAD! Apparently it is O.K. to use led in products in China. There have been more recalls than I can count due to LEAD content in products manufactured in China. This makes me just a bit uncomfortable. The instyler is in fact a unique idea but, I’m not at all convinced it is worth the high price being charged for it. I can see the $35.00 dollars I paid for it. But, if I would have paid any more for it, I would have returned it. And depending on the levels of lead it contains it may not even be worth the $35.00 dollars. There are plenty of good hair stylers on the market without having to put your health at risk.
Hey Im thinking about buyj g this product and I am african American and French and part Indian and my hair gets really curly when it’s wet and when I blow dry it it gets really poofy but has small volume and I was wondering if the insyler would work on my hair and if I used it how ling will it last until I have to use it again? Does it last for weeks or just 24 hours? When I wash my hair can I use shampoo and conditioner or does that count as putting product on my hair and it will damage the instyler ??
Hi all!!! So excited to tell you that I have been using my instyler for about a week and my hair has never looked better. I have slightly longer than shoulder length with multiple layers. I was so hesitant on getting this product, but got it anyway. I used a regular straightener, which ruined my hair, but what choice did I have? After the first day, a friend of mine asked me if I had gone to the salon! My ends were smooth and it had major body. My hair is super fine, but I have a lot of it. And now it looks and feels thicker. I know this may sound like an ad, but it isn’t. I am a 30 yr old mother of 2 from GA. The humidity down here kills straightened hair. Even when it snows. I don’t have to ust styling products anymore ( except finishing spray), which is great. I recommend this to anyone and everyone!!!
F.Y.I. My hair is super curly and frizzy
I have had the Instyler for a couple months now, and I LOVE it! Not only does it straighten, but I use it a lot to curl my hair and it really works! The only thing is they do say that the hair is “cool” to the touch after you let your hair out of it but it actually is really hot. But other than that it is an awesome product! I do reccommend going to either Target or Bed Bath & Beyond to get it, so that you don’t have any problems returning it. I love the instyler I don’t know what I did before without it!
Does it work on short hair that is incredibly frizzy, fine, curly and out of control? I’ve seen several of the same kind of questions on this type of hair but no one answers, all I see is comments on long hair.
hi im 13 and the instyler leaves my hair puffy and straight. i think ihts a ripoff im starting to think ihts cuhz im half black but when my friend starightened my hair with a 80$ straightner from sallys iht left me with shine nd pretty.
I personally LOVE the InStyler! I am mostly African American part Native American and Part Caucasian so my hair is very fine and soft but extremely curly and burns easily, but after I used better hair products the instyler worked even better. It’s the only straightner so far that didn’t make my hair poofy or frizzy or split my ends. Amazing product!
I absolutely love this product. My hair is very curly, I stopped relaxing it for about a year and was looking for the miracle product. This is it!
I have had mine for about 2 months and would not be without it! I also have a chi and it has been put away since getting the InStyler…however, I love it…I am white…have shoulder length layered hair. I can tell you now if I were to break the one I have, I would go out and buy another one immediately! I have several friends who have now bought one based on my recommendation.
Hi i am african american and i wanted to know if it would work for me. im 17 and my hair is to my shoulder. do you think it will work for me because i am considering buying it.
can the instyler curl your hair??
Hi im fully african and i wanted to know if the instyler would work for me. My hair is coarse nappy rough hard to comb and just crazy my hair is to my shoulders and i only relaxed it once but not fully because i was afraid my hair was going to fall out
Hi everyone. My name is Ashley, obviously. I just wanted to say that I am getting the Instyler today. I called Instyler and asked them the full price of there product, and a woman had told me it was $140. Well, My mother and I had gone to BJ’s (a store near-by) and they sell the Instyler for $80. Well, I’m going there today to buy this product which really has me crossing my fingers that it works for me. I have a little over the shoulder length hair, curly, and very very thick. I’m Dominican and Greek and I can tell you that my hair is NOT the easiest thing to handle. I have spent two hours daily to flat iron my hair and I can not tell you how many spots I would miss. Straight in the front, curls in the back. :\ So, I’m hoping this product works. If it doesn’t, I think I may just give up. (F.Y.I. I’m 13)
Okay, it’s me again, yep the 13 year old from before. Well, I got my Instyler a about an hour ago. A half hour ago, I was home and had just started using it, (I was very very eager, let me tell you) now I’m still home, but I have really nice hair, and very good looking. Pros; This product is very light weight, fast, effective, and made me look great. Cons; Very hot, A little hard to handle, and if you dislike a little noise then that too (I didn’t find it bad.) It will take a little getting used to, no doubt, but so far I’m satisfied with it. I can’t wait ’till I can mess around with it and do all the little things. (BTW, it comes with a case, curling thing, and a whole bunch of ways to do hairstyles) Thanks for reading. WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!? GO GET IT!
well i think this is gonna work… i haven’t got it yet. does this work really good or just ok? no one really replies on here they all just ask questions… so this is pointless but oh well… i’ll give it a shot!
I love the InStyler! I highly recommend it! I have thick, curly hair and it took me like an hour to straighten it with a flat iron. With the InStyler it takes me a half-hour. I have had no major problems, but I just got it a few weeks ago. I thought it broke one time because I had it fully heated in one room and I unplugged and moved it to another. I plugged it in again and it wouldn’t turn on. I assume that there is a heat shut off thing. But anyways, it doesn’t pull my hair like I though it would because of the brushes. Nope! It just perfectly polishes and straightens any type of hair! I don’t curl it because it’s hard to wrap my mid-length hair around the barrel because it gets hot. It’s kinda loud, but I definetley would not consider that a con compared to the pros. Also, the cord has lead in it?? But, so does make up so that’s not too bad. Anyways, I one-hundred percent recommend this product so ignore the bad reviews it is given! <3333 Buy this it's an amazing gift for a teen like me!
Yes, this product does work on short hair. Yes, it curls any type of hair. Yes, it straightens any type of hair! Get this product you will not regret it!!!
does the instyler really use no heat cause i find that hard to believe
Hi, I have long, curly, frizzy, thick, fried hair. In other words, I have a head full of hair that all I can manage to do is wear it up 24/7. I want to wear my hair down now! I cannot wait to get the Instyler!
Wow! My Hair Is Just Like Yours! Its Wavy And Fizzy And Takes Forever to Straighten! My Friend Giselle Uses It On her Hair ( Hers Is Relaxed.) And It Looks Amazing, And Never Frizzes! I Can’t Wait To Order Mine~!
Ther r bad parts of this to it straightens but dosent hold it very long and can’t hold a curl at all wow waiste of money
^^^Yeah it uses heat! Jut the heat isn’t as harmful to hair as other straightners I guess!
One more thing, it doesn’t seem to keep my ends the same..because my tips flip different ways..but I think it’s just my hair…Anyways..buy buy buy!!!
Hi, I’m Laura and I’m Asian-American. My hair is thick and dry. It’s very frizzy too. My hair is right below my shoulders. I am below 13 years old, but my hair is still like this. I have a couple question.
Will the InStyler work for me?
What is product?
What is relaxed hair?
And how long would it take to straighten my hair?
I have thick, coarse, wiry, curly, wavy, frizzy, downright ugly hair. I hate my hair. No shampoo, no conditioner, no leave-in product, nothing made my hair nice. I recently tried a new stylist and with a photo of Sharon Osbourne’s hairstyle, she gave me a great style. I was leary though because she used a flat iron, something I’d never had before. I decided to try the In Styler instead of buying a flat iron. The In Styler really works. It really, really does! I bought one for my daughter who has great hair (not like mine at all) and she loves hers too. She says the In Styler cuts her hair time in half. I love my In Styler and would recommend one to anyone, especially if they have hair like mine.
You can buy the Instyler at bath & beyond for $99.99.
Thats where i got mine!
The Instyler WILL work for short hair. I tried it on my husband to see if the Instyler will grab his shorrrrt hair, & it did.
The only thing bad i will say is that if you have it too high IT WILL BURN YOUR HAIR.
Other then that it is a good product.
Feel free anyone to ask any question !
IT WORKS GREAT ON AFRICAN AMERICAN HAIR!! I actually have mixed hair which is curly and a little frizzy when dry. I am very pleased with this product.
Oh yes!Oh yeah i have one and its all mine…I saw this product one nite on tv. My thought was yeah i bet it will burn it… i said goodluck sucker. Well i have “oldhair”. I know i have to be much more gentle with it. So what is this all about. Hummm ok i am tried of all those different irons and brushes and the gel stuff. Well still remembering this commercial my husband asked me hunni what do you want for your birthday. With the instyler in my thoughts i answered him that i would love to have pretty managable hair. As i was almost in tears at the time. So my husband looked online for it, and we thought of ordering it. Heck with that i said lets go buy it now! LOL so when we got home with the instyler i couldn’t wait to open and try it right away. Much to my surprise. I love it !!!! oh yeah girl get one. Well worth it. I say this because when i woke up this morning my hair felt like it did when i was back in high school. Yeah really…. Oh yes, my husband is soooo happy too. My hair is 59 years old btw…
I LOVE MY INSTYLER. i know they are expensive…mine was actually a gift but man! it works great
…i am black and puerto rican with a weird frizzy wave with curly roots and nape…aka…a hot mess! hahaha…i have a chi, remington and conair and the instyler takes the cake! i can also do my hair damp…yes it takes a tad longer, but i get to completely bypass the blow dryer…i usually wash, let air dry while i sleep and do it when i wake up, i get the best results this way. i have past mid back length hair and in sections, i am able to do my whole head in 45 mins…good in my opinion…i have an oily scalp, so it only lasts like 3 days for me, but i did my moms and hers lasted 2 weeks! and she has 2x more hair then i do…overall, great buy, great product and great results!!!! see link for my hair!
I requested, and got the InStyler from my sweetie for Christmas. I have seemingly thick, but fine, kinky curly hair. I cannot believe how well this thing works! I have put away the curling iron and flat iron…as once you know how to use/control the IS, you don’t need either of those tools. I’ve found for maximum results, using hair spray before you start using it holds the curl longer/better. And yes, it does take time to do the sections just right but the end result…the sheen, the soft curls or straightened tips-ends WITHOUT burning your hair are SO worth it!! I’m incredibly grateful the ad/informercial was NOT a “too good to be true” deal!!
my only concern is that the instyler will get caught in my hair and that the bristels on the instyler will not straighten my hair correctly
Hey so i just got the instyler and it works great i love it so much and i got it yesterday and i had no idea how to use it but it comes with a dvd that shows you evrything. It is great for someone who is in a hurry or just wants great and fab hair. The thing that i love about it is that when you want to curl it you just have to wrap your hair around, close it , let it go, and its done! It is just 3 easy steps and you have your first curl.I love it so much and its so fast and easy to use.I really recommend you to get it its greate and so much easier to use than a FLAT IRON i love it so mch!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wait, do you have to dry your hair to use it?
As to Laurels comment at Thrusday at 9 PM. I’m not juding you, but I really don’t think you was using it correctly because it does hold a curl. If you want a curl, don’t brush it out but instead hair spray it. when finished. I recieved a DVD with mine & watched it a couple of times to make sure I was doing it right for the style I was creating for me personally. I curl mine under & it stays. I have used it as a flip, a side curl & this Insyler is amazing. I didn’t order online but went inside the store Walmart in my area & purchased one. I love it!! yes it does work on all hair types.
I just got the Instyler today. I got the special price. I tried the instlyer on my thick curly hair. I really loved it.
I have long thick wavy hair. I thought it was great because I started straightening my hair from my bangs. Once I was working on the rest of my hair I had to go over the same section of hair more than 10 times. Maybe its because my hair is so thick & tough. But it doesnt work at all for me! No regrets because I didnt buy it lol. Im sure it’ll work on others though.
Ok so I am reading all the rave reviews here and the one thing I have not seen mentioned is how long this beautiful hair lasts? I have waist length, thick curly hair that frizzes most of the year. The dry winter days, I may get lucky and am able to wear it down for a few hours but it begins to frizz and up it goes! So This does look like the dream solution but I want to know if you go out in the humidity, what happens to your nice curled smooth hair? Does it really stay that way, do the ends stay smooth? I have seen the instyler at my local Target for $99 and after all these years of frustration with my hair I would spend the money if it works. But it has to last at least the day and evening, I wash at night and let it air dry over night cause blowers even with diffusers just makes my hair worse as do hot irons. So tell us, how long does the effects last? and what happens if the air is damp or rainy?
I have had my Instyler now for a few months. If you have hair like Moana like above, it sounds like she is putting to much hair in her roller. I love the Insyler & is donating my old flat iron & curling irons. I kept them to make sure I liked my Instyler & I do. It works best if you do not add any haor products on the hair prior, although I have tried after adding mouse. I get so many compliments on my hair & it takes a lot less time to do my hair. If it isnt working for you, perhaps you are doing something wrong & need to re watch the vidoe as I did. My grown neice has natural curly hair & it gets frizzy in humidiity, so I took it over to her house & used it on her hair & it was remarkable. She is now getting her one. All the reviews are going to be different so it depends on how you use it on your hair.
I’m confused….how much will it be in the end? Is it expensive?
I purchased my Instyler shortly after it was available. I have used on short, medium and long hair. It takes me 5 -10 minutes to do my hair. I have thrown out all of my different sized curling irons, curling brushes and hot rollers. I will never purchase any other type styler again. I have purchased these for gifts and everyone loves theirs as much as I like mine.
Worth every penny!!!
The Instyler is a great product, however, there are lots of copycat products out there! Please be careful when buying one; make sure you buy it from the main website or phone number. I bought one from another website for a cheaper price, thinking I was getting a great deal. Turns out, it was a different company, selling defective Instylers for $60! I was very disapointed, and just wanted to make sure it didn’t happen to someone else.
I purchased my Instyler a few months ago and I love it. A friend of mine introduced this product to me and when I saw the finish product and how her hair looked I knew I needed to have one. I use it everyday and it leaves my hair feeling soft. I’m also able to create curls. It’s easy to use and it has multiple heat settings. It is worth the money.
Instyler does work! I have had my Instyler for a couple of years and have had no problems. I see some negative comments for which I believe there may be reasonable explanations for the unsatisfactory results. Here are some of my observations:
*My hair is multi-textured. The back layer is very dry, course, and crinkly. Some parts of my hair fall into ringlets when wet. Other parts of my hair are simply wavy and in complete contrast to parts that are fine, limp, and straight (there are very few staightt areas). It works on all my hair types.
*Initially, I had reasonable results. It takes a little longer when using Instyler on wet hair. I prefer to use it on my hair when it’s dry.
*In time, I learned to readjust the heat to the type of hair for which I was working. This was the ultimate trick. I learned more about my hair type and what works.
*Some results may reflect the hair products used. I use a moisture conditioning shampoo & conditioner which is usually designed for straightening. I prefer Redkin Smooth Down products, but others are just as effective
*I also ensure that I protect my hair before styling. I use Redkin’s Heat Glide on the driest parts of my hair, but not on all areas. Only a small amount is needed. I also use a heat protection spray all over before blow drying.
*Most of my hair does get polished. The driest parts of my hair in the back are not as polished. For this, I use a small dab of hair polisher after I have completed styling.
Overall, this product is all that it has claimed to be. I have been very happy with my results. It may take some time to experiment and find the best settings, but it doesn’t take long to discover these methods. As of now, I have this routine down to a 10 minute process. I like that I have been able to save so much time compared to the time it previously took. I definitely recommend this product with two thumbs up!
Another tip which I failed to mention, is the amount of hair used for sections in the Instyler. Experimenting with how much hair you place in the Instyler makes a difference in the results.
I purchased the Instyler for myself and as excited I was to purchase it I was a bit surprised of the results. It frizzes my hair which the box specifically states that it doesn’t. Also, I have several strands of hair that was pulled out as a result of using the instyler. I thougt I was using it incorrectly but I watched the video and tried it again and too much dismay the same thing happened. I took it to a friend of mine who is a beautician and she tried it and the same thing happened. I’m contacting Instyler to let them know the product doesn’t live up to what they are claiming. Sorry, Instyler (I tried).
I just purchased the Instyler today and I cant wait to try it, Im looking for a hair tool that wont damage my hair!! I have tried alot of flat irons, and curling irons but they always damage my hair so thats really important to me. I have pretty straight hair but it is very processed, so if there is any advice anyone can give me I would really appreciate it!!
thanks
I have had the InStyler since November, and I have really thick, frizzy. The first 3 or 4 months it worked really well. But after, that, it didn’t work as well. The orange thing on top of the iron fell off, one day I was using it and the iron part just fell off and my father had to fix it (that was on the morning of school too!), and now when I turn it off after 2 or 3 minutes it turns off on its own. I think its time for a new straightener! I used my friend’s straightener and its amazing! It’s called the Remington Wet 2 Straight and I highly suggest that iron! It makes my hair pin straight and you can also use it on damp hair and it doesn’t make it poof or anything!
Thanks for your honest review of the Instyler. I’ll sure check this hair straightener out. Nice post!
I bought that instyler and it was so amazing I could not believe how my hair looked! I never had hair that great before!
The instyler works amazing I love it nd I can never go back to any other straightening product I straighten my hair at night time, and then again in the morning sure the noise is just annoying but u actually get use to it I don’t even notice the noise anymore it gives my hair volume and keeps it nice and shiny best product I have had it for 2 years now I do need to buy another one cuz I insist this one survives its working on tape and rubber bands still works though

I bought my Instyler a few month ago when I was watching the infomercial late at night. I was really happy with it and I like the way it makes my hair feel. I have had it for about 1.5 years and I dont think I will ever need a hair streighner again. I like how its versatile and you can easily do different styles!
